Privacy Policy
Small Signal Studio (“we”, “us”) built Batten as a local-first departure checklist app. This policy describes what data the app handles and how.
Summary
- Checklists, receipts, and optional photo proof are stored on your device.
- Photos are never uploaded to our servers.
- Optional features (location geofence, purchases, crash reports) are described below.
Data stored on your device
Batten stores your manifests (departure checklists), round history, cognitive receipts, settings, and optional photo proof using on-device storage (SQLite and the file system). This data stays on your phone unless you use an optional feature below.
Camera (optional)
If you attach photo proof to a check, Batten saves the image on your device only. We do not upload photos to our servers or the cloud.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Batten schedules local reminders on your device (such as a daily checklist reminder). We do not send push notifications from our own servers.
Location (optional, Premium)
If you enable the geofence departure reminder (Premium), Batten may use background location to detect when you leave your home geofence and remind you to complete your checklist. Location is not used when this feature is off. We do not sell location data.
Account and sync (optional)
Batten may offer optional sign-in via Supabase for future sync features. Core checklist and photo data remain on-device by default.
Purchases
Premium features are sold through Apple In-App Purchase, with subscription status managed by RevenueCat. Apple and RevenueCat process payment and entitlement data under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Analytics and crash reports (optional)
If enabled in your build, anonymous usage and diagnostic data (such as app version and platform) may be sent to our analytics and error-monitoring providers. Checklist content and photos are not included in routine reports.
Children
Batten is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
