Privacy Policy
Small Signal Studio (“we”, “us”) built Sippin as a local-first hydration app. This policy describes what data the app handles and how.
Summary
- Hydration logs, goals, and settings are stored on your device.
- We do not operate a Sippin account system or sync your logs to our servers.
- Optional features (weather goals, Apple Health, purchases, crash reports) are described below.
Data stored on your device
Sippin stores your hydration history, daily goals, reminder schedule, streaks, and preferences using on-device storage. This data stays on your phone unless you use an optional feature below.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Sippin schedules local reminders on your device. We do not send push notifications from our own servers.
Location (optional)
If you turn on weather-based goals, Sippin uses your approximate location while the app is in use to fetch public weather data (via Open-Meteo) and adjust your daily goal. Location is not used when this feature is off. We do not sell location data.
Apple Health (optional, iOS)
If you enable Apple Health sync, Sippin may read and write dietary water samples in HealthKit so your totals stay aligned with the Health app. Health data is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers.
Purchases
Premium features are sold through Apple In-App Purchase, with subscription status managed by RevenueCat. Apple and RevenueCat process payment and entitlement data under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Crash and bug reports (optional)
If crash reporting is enabled in your build, anonymous diagnostic data (such as app version and platform) may be sent to our error-monitoring provider when the app crashes or you submit a voluntary bug report. Hydration log content is not included in routine crash reports.
Children
Sippin is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
